Baseline’s facilitates endorsement deal with Bank of Baroda for clients PV Sindhu and K Srikanth

HYDERABAD: PV Sindhu is on a roll. The rewards for her silver medal effort at the Rio Olympics continue to pour in with the Hyderabad shuttler now signing a deal with Bank of Baroda to be their brand ambassador for a period of three years. This by far will be the biggest deal the shuttler has signed after she renewed her partnership with management company Baseline Ventures.

Last week Sindhu became the brand ambassador of Vizag Steel but this deal is worth more as the world No. 8 will sport the bank’s logo in the middle of her T-shirt. BoB has also signed men’s singles shuttler Kidambi Srikanth for a huge sum.

We can’t disclose the amount but, more or less, this will be the biggest deal for her in the next few weeks. We are expecting more signings very soon.

Incidentally, this is only the second instance of sportspersons endorsing this bank after former Test captain Rahul Dravid. Sindhu is likely to get nearly Rs 8 crore from this three-year deal.

Disclosing this here, Tuhin Mishra, managing director, Baseline, told TOI on Thursday that the shuttler will be signing more than 10 deals in the next few days. “We are very happy to announce Sindhu’s new partnership with BoB. We can’t disclose the amount but, more or less, this will be the biggest deal for her in the next few weeks. We are expecting more signings very soon,” Mishra said.

Mayank Mehta, executive director, BoB, said, “Both PV Sindhu and K Srikanth are household names today because of their glorious achievements. We are excited to have them on board.”

With the price that Vizag Steel, BoB and eight other companies would be paying, Sindhu is expected to surpass the Rs 50 crore she is expected to get in through the three-year association with Baseline.

The shuttler, meanwhile, will travel to Denmark this weekend to take part in the Super Series Premier. This will be the first tournament Sindhu is set to participate in after the Rio Games. She will then travel to Paris for the French Open Super Series (from October 25).
